We have been spending our October, just as its meaning says, “planting time“. This month, we have a few new dancers and we have been working with them, nurturing their growth, and looking forward to seeing them become amazing dancers and cultural practitioners. While they are quite young, we know that harvesting our resources will bring great contributions to the guma’ & our culture.
We’re also planting for the future upcoming opportunities. This month is our very first online fundraiser. A little note from our Fafa’na’gue’ – “It’s been 20 years of existence, and many of us are still heavily involved and committed to our cultural movement to preserve and perpetuate our CHamoru culture. Imåhen Taotao Tåno’ is kindly seeking your support for our 1st ever Fundraiser. Proceeds will help to support our guma’ so that we can continue to fulfill our mission within our great San Diego community and abroad. Your giving hearts are tremendously appreciated. Bula guinaiya yan sen agradesi para I suppoten-miyu ginen guåhu yan I gimå’-hu. (much love and great appreciation for all your support from myself and my guma’)”.
