May brought cultural appreciation events and opportunities to share with che’lu-ta siha.
This is our 5th year teaming with Asian Cultural Festival in Mira Mesa. This event is always a treat for us! We love to gallivant the booths and chat with the volunteers! The information booth always has a lively group of lahi yan palao’an who greet you with attention grabbing head gear! This year we were 1st on the Boba stage to share our Håfa Adai! The audio techs always greet us with smiles and recognition. That’s an amazing feeling! You can see performance photos and video in their respective tabs.
Auntie Rose received bula guaiya ginen che’lu-ta, Uno Hit. Together, as one, Auntie Rose and the dancers of Uno Hit, danced and wove henton ulu kon puti tai nobiu. Thank you for allowing Auntie Rose to do what she does best! We hope to have photos to share soon!
Familia-ta, we were asked to perform for a video shoot! This was a collaboration of many talented people coming together to help tell a story. Within this story is the Maidens who saved Guahan legend. The writer and director is participating in a film competition, we wish her great success! Take a peek at this scene
To finish May strong, we were asked to performed for the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage celebration on the base. We returned to Point Loma to dance and share our love and appreciation for those who serve our country! What a blessing!
